All Natural and Organic Soap – Kind and Effective
Daily use of an organic soap is a great beauty treatment!
Completely natural soaps should have ingredients that will wash away dirt and excess oils while leaving your skin undamaged.
Start With a Clean Slate
Using a mild soap at night should be enough for an everyday cleansing.
The tricky part is the dangerous ingredients found in most commercial skin cleansers are far too abrasive.
Making sure your cleanser is "detergent free or sulfate free" can be a HUGE step in achieving healthy skin.
A common detergent found in numerous skin care products is
sodium lauryl sulfate.
Why People With Oily Skin Should Avoid Detergents
A logical tendency might be to think that these detergents are the only thing strong enough to thouroughly cleanse oily skin.
The fact is,once skin is stripped of its natural oils it will immediatly create more to replace it. Our bodies will over compensate against the assult it has been dealt, creating a vicious circle. Nobody wins in this scenario.
My best advice would be to ditch the detergents and begin again.
Getting Clean with Organic Soap
Good natural soaps and cleansers should be effective at getting rid of dirt, dust and makeup that can clog pores. They should also leave your skin intact and feeling soft.
There are many to choose from if you know where to look. The internet is always a good place. Vitamin and health food stores are another.
Great organic soaps to start...
- Castille soap - made with Olive oil, it is a great moisturizer and cleanser that will not clog pores. Often recommended for those with oily skin.
- Glycerin soap - another great moisturizer.
- Goat milk soap - moisturizing and has great antioxidant properties
any of these may be made with added ingredients for different skin types. For example,
tea tree oil
for oily skin or chamomile for dry skin types.
Clearing the Skin and the Confusion
You may see advertisments claiming that their skin care products are "soap-free." This can be a little confusing. Soaps are not always harsh or bad for the skin, especially when refering to organic soap.
It is usually the DETERGENTS in the soaps or cleansers that you will want to avoid. Soap and detergent seem to be used interchangeably in the skin care industry. Remember, they are not the same.
There are mild true natural soaps that are great at safely cleansing skin.
By gently yet effectively cleansing your skin you will be giving it new life. As it breathes a sigh of relief it will reward you with the healthy complexion you deserve.
