Eczema Photos and Finding Food Allergy Relief

These eczema photos were taken of my son from age 4 months to 1 year. At two months old, he began showing symptoms of food allergies.

Our journey has taken us on a long and often terrifying road after we discovered his severe infant food allergies. Thankfully, 2 1/2 years later, he is doing remarkably well. I'd like to share some food allergy pictures and our story. I hope that it gives you some hope and understanding.

Signs and Symptoms of Food Allergies my Son Experienced

  • Chronic congestion
  • Green poops (He was 6 weeks old and not all were green but every day he started to have a least one green BM)
  • Sleeplessness and agitation
  • Diaper rash. Often severe and yeast infected, needing prescription meds to control.
  • Rosy cheeks which several weeks later turned to eczema. See eczema photo below. Or click to see more eczema pictures with his "rosy cheeks."
  • Rash around neck. See food allergy pictures on the right.
  • As he grew older the eczema spread to all parts of his body including his feet. He also would experience hives after eating offending foods.

At five months he was diagnosed with milk, egg and peanut allergy.

At age one, my son was reacting to everything. We were avoiding the known culprits, but his allergies to those sky rocketed. He also developed allergies to soy, corn, wheat, tree nuts, chicken, chocolate, citrus, melon, potato, avocado, rye, etc. etc.

I was distraught. This was when I became desperate for ways to help him. I figured because his immune system was malfunctioning, for lack of a better term, the best thing I could do for his health was to strengthen it.

food allergy rash, eczema photos, infant food allergies, eczema pics As you can see from the eczema photos and food allergy pictures here, he still was reacting, no matter how hard I tried to avoid certain foods.

Thankfully, there are several things you can do to calm and strengthen the immune system.

I've had several patients in doctor waiting rooms ask me what I'm doing to care for my son. After I discovered the things that brought about food allergy relief, he became husky and healthy looking.

He also does not suffer from many of the "side" conditions or other symptoms of food allergies such as chronic ear and sinus infections, hyperactivity, chronic asthma, etc. His eczema is all but gone aside from very few, occasional spots here and there during the winter. People can't believe when I show them his old eczema photos.

Again, these remedies may not be right for you or your child. But I'd like to share what we are doing so you have something to research and look into. I also use most of these therapies for his brother that doesn't have food allergies but has eczema. You can see his eczema photos on What does eczema look like?

I've done a ton of research on products including quality and price. I've included them here so that you can see what has helped us. I've found what I believe are the best places to purchase them at wholesale prices.

Everything must be considered for your child's particular allergies. All ingredients must be carefully read and cross contamination possibilities should be checked out from the manufacturer.

What I Used to Find Food Allergy Relief

Find the Right Doctor. If you can, find a doctor or allergist that will not dismiss any other form of "alternative" natural approach you may be considering. Create a kind of "team" for yourself or child. Make sure you are all on the same page.

Arm yourself with lots of information for your doctors. Take eczema photos and bring them. I can't emphasize this enough. Write journals and notes of your suspected symptoms of food allergies. Bring those too.

Rotation Diet. At first I found this overwhelming, but it is so well worth it. The idea is to rotate food so the body calms down and doesn't react to being fed the same thing over and over, day after day.

A "typical" rotation diet is 4 days. I never had enough of a variety of food for 4 days but I started with what I could at 3 days. And it worked wonders. If you do it, take it one day at a time. Don't stress if you can't do it perfectly. I couldn't for a long time, but it still helped.

Probiotics! These were amazing for his gut, which is where the root of the problem usually is.

Dairy Free, Powder Form, Culturelle Probiotics for Kidsicon is what my son's GI doctor recommended. It contains a very strong strain of Lactobacillus GG; a particular strain resistant to stomach acid.

After about 2 weeks, I couldn't believe the difference with his diaper rash - no more prescription cream!

This is not the area to skimp when it comes to quality. Cheap probiotics will do no good. There are other dairy free varieties that we have since added to our daily consumption!

Probiotics usually can be mixed into cool drinks/formulas or put on a finger to be sucked off by baby, in these cases you need a powder form (like Culturelle). It's best to start slow and work up to at least 1-4 billion/day depending on age and size of baby. I would recommend friends to use probiotics at the first signs of infant food allergies or other immune disorders.

Homeopathic Medicines. These were also suggested by my son's GI doctor. As you can see from the eczema photos and food allergy pictures, his skin was very uncomfortable. The homeopathic medicine for eczemaicon was like a miracle. Again, it didn't happen over night, but I began to see changes soon. And within months it was gone!

He also took daily doses for allergies to calm the histamine in his system.

I needed to dissolve them in a small amount of water and give it to him with a syringe. (*Important note - homeopathic meds are often in a base of lactose (milk sugar). My son is extremely allergic to even the minutest amount of milk PROTEIN. He has been able to tolerate the lactose in homeopathies so far. But this is something to think about if you are dealing with milk allergy.)

Digestive Enzymes. Anyone seeking food allergy relief should consider these. Although, it wasn't until he was about 18 months old when my son could really tolerate them.

Enzymes help break down food to be digested properly. It is thought that undigested food particles are particularly bothersome to allergic individuals.

The first one I read about and the one we still use is Enzymedica Digest Capsulesicon. I simply pour part of the capsule into a drink or applesauce with meals. I've been very happy with them.

Vitmamins, Minerals and Extra Immune Boosters. Trying to make sure your child is getting all of the vitamins and minerals they need to grow is particularily tricky. Make sure you supplement where you think you might be lacking.

I give extra Vitamin D and C as they are believed to be very powerful immune system boosters. Here are more immune boosters that may help bring food allergy relief. icon

eczema pics, food allergy relief Dealing with infant food allergies is a true test of patience. It's often agonizing. You can't do it all. But do what makes sense for you and what you feel comfortable with. One day (and sometimes one moment) at a time.

I may never really know if all I'm doing is helping my son to grow out of his allergies any faster. All I know is that at a little over two years old he was blood tested again and the results were remarkable. Even his seasoned allergist was surprised.

His scores for egg, milk and peanut have come down considerably. His egg allergy is less than half of what it was.

More impressive was the test showed that he had grown out of all the other allergies! Including tree nuts!

We are going s..l..o..w..l..y while trialing these foods for eating, but so far, so good! Hopefully, there will be no other eczema photos or allergy pictures for us anymore!

What I do know for sure is that I'm so thankful I did all that I could. And I'll keep on doing it, until he is completely allergy free.

Best wishes to you and yours. Be safe.
