Bring Out the Best in Your Anti Aging Products for the Skin

Knowing the purpose of our anti aging products and what they are made of is important. Of equal importance is knowing when to use them. Here is an easy, daily guide to help you get the most out of your anti aging skin creams and lotions.

A Guide to Natural Anti Aging

Morning

Rinsing your face with cool water is an invigorating step to wash away dead skin cells. An added bonus, the coolness of the water constricts pores making them less visible!

Applying a natural or organic moisturizer with antioxidants and/or amino acids is a must in the morning. These will fight off the daily onslaught of pollution and oxidizing compounds that prematurely age our skin.

The use of sunscreens has become a controversial topic. However the vast majority of skin care experts agree that you do need sun protection.

Usually these are built into moisturizers, including natural and organic ones. Protecting your skin from the damaging rays of the sun is PARAMOUNT for healthy, young looking skin.

Daytime

Again, if you are out in the sun for prolonged periods you may need to apply additional protection. Generally, we are on the go and don't have time to fuss with skin care. That's ok.

By keeping hydrated you are helping to bring out the best in your skin. Of course, good nutrition and exercise play a vital role in natural anti aging and skin care.

Evening/Night

A mild soap to remove dirt and makeup should be part of your anti aging products. It is important to use the right skin cleansers to combat the signs of premature aging. Many "soaps" contain harsh detergents that strip skin of its natural protective barrier. Look for "detergent free" or "sulfate free"cleansers.

Using a toner will rid your skin of any last trace of dirt or soap residue. There are many organic skin toners made for specific skin types. It is a vital step in any natural anti aging skin care routine. It will also prepare your skin for the next and final step...

Before bed apply another moisturizer. Depending upon your needs you may want to use alpha hydroxy acids. These will work over night to slough off dead skin cells. This exfoliation process speeds up cell renewal that naturally slows as we age. It will help to reveal glowing, healthy skin.

If you are not using AHAs in your anti aging products, you may wish to use a moisturizer with antioxidants. Say you use the antioxidant Vitamin E in the morning. You may wish to use one with Co enzyme Q10 at night for its firming properties.

Either way, you do not need a sunscreen in your nightly moisturizer. This is the time to give your skin a break from those added chemicals.

Weekly/Monthly

If you are not using AHAs in your daily routine, it is a good idea to use physical exfoliates at least once a week. Like other natural anti aging skin creams, there is a vast array of products on the market to fit your skin type.

Masks are another skin care "extra" worth mentioning. They will help keep your skin free of impurities and in tip-top condition. Many clay masks help to improve the appearance of firmer skin.

Sleep Tight

Of course, plenty of sleep and rest can do wonders for our skin and well-being. Rest assured you will be sleeping more soundly knowing that your are getting all you can out of your anti aging products.
